I know very little about The Cygnet Ring. I must of brought this after a particularly glowing review on the John Peel show. I have the original 7” on Protocol Records; it was reissued on Warner Music UK. Even with the backing of a major label it still did not manage to cause of an impression on the charts. Which is a shame as Love Crime has danceable Eastern beats, an world music sound which is not disagreeable. The b-side is a track called Nehal, this is really wearing their love for the East on their sleeve.
